Course Learning Outcomes

History spanning the Canaanite to Israelite, Muslim and Christian periods comes alive in this trip to Israel. Students will gain a better understanding of of semi-arid farming practices and how this climate impacts local producers.

 

Course Highlights

  • Walk the ancient streets of Jerusalem, the modern agricultural fields of the Jezreel Valley, the ancient olive trees in Garden of Gethsemane and the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
  • Learn about the agriculture of Israel, which utilizes some of the most advanced irrigation in the world while maintaining some of the oldest known production methods. 
  • Visit major biblical sites throughout Jerusalem and Galilee and participate in a supervised, active archeology dig.

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance ($203**) and OSU study abroad admin fee ($200*) $403

*Not protected by CFAR insurance. Same rate for in-state and out-of-state students.
**CFAR insurance protects the study abroad program fee and is non-refundable. Reimbursement rates vary by situation. Contact course instructor if you have any additional questions.

  • AGEC 5990 Advanced Studies: Israel (3 credit hours, graduate level)

*Undergraduate students at Oklahoma State University are required to take a class that carries an I designation for graduation purposes
