Course Learning Outcomes

Gain new perspectives and learn about the history of New Zealand and Australia, the agriculture industry in both countries, and how each country incorporates sustainability practices.

 

Course Highlights

  • Visit multiple iconic cities in both New Zealand (16 nights) and Australia (4 nights).
  • Learn about the differences and similarities of the agricultural industries in both countries compared to the United States.
  • Tour large and small agricultural operations, including beef cattle, dairy cattle, red deer, sheep, goats, llamas/alpacas, wine and fruit.
  • Explore nature reserves, mountains, beaches and historical landmarks.
  • Study how agriculture is impacted by local culture and climates.

  • AECL 4800 International Study Tour in Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership (I): New Zealand and Australia (3 credit hours with I designation*)
  • AECL 5800 International Study Tour in Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership: New Zealand and Australia (3 credit hours, graduate level)

*Undergraduate students at Oklahoma State University are required to take a class that carries an I designation for graduation purposes.
