The Oklahoma State University agricultural communications program is among the most respected and largest in the nation. Our roots are deep - reaching back to OSU's first offering of agricultural journalism in 1927. Today, we are on the leading edge of technology. Our faculty combine hands-on instruction with real-world experience, and our graduates are prominent leaders in the agricultural communications field.

    With more than 150 students from 24 states and 7 faculty, our program is large enough to add rigor and small enough remain personalized.

  • I am not from Oklahoma. Will I fit in?

    The national reputation of our agricultural communications program attracts students from across the country. In fact, about 45 percent of our students are from outside of Oklahoma. Our students hail from 24 states, with many joining us from California and Texas. As an out-of-state student, you absolutely will feel at home and fit in!

  • What is advising like in agricultural communications?

    Agricultural communications advisers, like all advisers in the Ferguson College of Agriculture, are faculty who advise, teach courses and are involved professionally in the ag comm field. Advisers assist students in identifying their career objectives and in reaching career preparation goals.

     

    Our program is known for our laid back, family atmosphere, which is evident in the close relationship between and among our faculty and students. It just takes one visit to see "There is something special about the 4th floor of Ag Hall."

  • What student organizations can I join?

    Agricultural communications students become part of a family through involvement in numerous campus organizations and activities. Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow is the national organization for agricultural communications students. The OSU chapter conducts many activities such as community service projects, career development workshops and social activities.

     

    On a national level, students compete in the National ACT Critique & Contest, which is a contest for agricultural communications students nationwide who can compete in categories including photography, writing, video/audio production, graphic design, web design, magazine production and social media. OSU students have won more Critique and Contest awards than students from any other university in North America.
