New Faces

Ronda Dostal is an Accountant I in the NRC Finance Team. She began her position on June 2. She was previously an elementary school teacher at Drumright.

Stephanie Sallee is an Accountant II in the NRC Finance Team. She began her position on July 23. She was previously the Business Manager for ITLE, the Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence at OSU.

Summer Graduate

Daniel Lopez had titled his M.S. theses, “Exploring the Influence of the Oklahoma Winter Wheat Rhizosphere on Crop Yield and the Development of Diagnostic Probes for Beneficial Microorganisms.” His advisor has been Dr. Andres Espindola. Daniel plans to pursue his Ph.D. degree with Dr. Espindola. He received his B.S. degree in Biotechnology Engineering from the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas - ESPE in Ecuador in 2019.

Dr. Andres Espindola is the recipient of a 2025 Schroth Faces of the Future Symposium: Virology Travel Award from the American Phytopathology Society. He will present his current work and speculate on future directions of his discipline at the APS annual meeting on August 2-4 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Jennifer Olson received a Communications Award for an Educational Video Recording titled, “What to Expect in the Landscape” during the 2025 Oklahoma Association of Extension Agriculture Agents annual meeting in Stillwater on July 7-9.

Gabriela Paredes received an American Phytopathology Society Foundation General Student Travel Fund Award to attend the APS annual meeting on August 2-4 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also received a Women for OSU Endowed Student Scholarship Award for her passion in philanthropy and leadership in her community.

Sulav Paul and his wife Sadipta are the proud parents of a baby boy. Souvik Paul Rayan was born on July 14 at Stillwater Medical Center, weighed 5 pounds, and was 18 inches in length.

Usman Rabiu received an American Phytopathology Society Foundation General Student Travel Fund Award to attend the APS annual meeting on August 2-4 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
