OSU's Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Department embraces the teaching, research,
and extension triad of our land grant university mission. Dedicated to excellence,
faculty and students explore all aspects of horticulture and landscape architecture
including plant breeding, food crop production, athletic turf management, urban landscaping
and sustainable design.
Our friendly faculty and staff are here to help students achieve their academic and
personal goals whether inside or outside of the classroom.

- Dr. Bo Zhang awarded the 2023 National Faculty Award of Excellence in Teaching during The Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas on March 17, 2023
- Dr. Mike Schnelle accepted the 2021-2022 Blue Ribbon Extension Communication Award at the American Society of Horticultural Science - Southern Region meeting, February 3-5, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. The team consisted of Dr. Mike Schnelle, Donna Dollins, Peter Harwell, Dwayne Hunter, Craig Woods.
- Taylor Frentz, 1st place and Bryce Waugh, 3rd place awards in the J.B. Edmond Undergraduate Student Paper Competition at the ASHS - Southern Region Annual Conference, held February 3-5, 2023 in Oklahoma City. Both students were part of the 2022 OSU Horticulture Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates (REEU) program.
- Congratulations to Adrian Alexander for being recognized as a 2023 LAF, Olmsted Scholar from the Landscape Architecture Foundation, May 2023.
