OSU's Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Department embraces the teaching, research,
and extension triad of our land grant university mission. Dedicated to excellence,
faculty and students explore all aspects of horticulture and landscape architecture
including plant breeding, food crop production, athletic turf management, urban landscaping
and sustainable design.
Our friendly faculty and staff are here to help students achieve their academic and
personal goals whether inside or outside of the classroom.

- Congratulations to Sophia Darrow, a horticulture graduate student, for being honored with the Women in Agribusiness Student Scholarship! This award recognizes her leadership, innovation and dedication to advancing opportunities in agribusiness.
- Congratulations to Allie Mixon, a landscape architecture student, for her "Healing and Recovering" project from LA Studio 6 Urban Design received the 2025 American Society of Landscape Architects Central States Merit Award in the Design (Unbuilt) Category.
- Congratulations to Binod Pokhrel, a horticulture Ph.D. student, for receiving the 2025 National Science Foundation Travel Award! This award will support his participation in the CANVAS-2025 Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, UT, from Nov 9–12. Binod will be presenting one poster and two oral presentations showcasing his M.S. and Ph.D. research in turfgrass science.
