Lenny Hughes of Richardson, Texas, graduated at the top of his class in 1994 with
a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from OSU and was one of the first African
American graduates from this program. Today, Hughes is an award-winning landscape
architect and currently serves as the vice president and regional director of planning
and landscape architecture at Halff Associates in Richardson, Texas.

OSU Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
Hughes’ peers recognize that his work benefits other landscape architects and is at
the core of what they do best – make the world a better place.
In addition, Hughes received the OSU Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture
