Get to Know Becca!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

"I am Becca Imgarten, a 2007 ag comm grad, originally from Fort Collins, Colorado. During my time at OSU, I fell in love with the agriculture community and the people of Oklahoma. After a brief time back in Colorado, I have been fortunate to build my life in Oklahoma with my husband, Wilton, and daughter, Kinsley. We live north of Perry, Oklahoma. We farm and have cattle, which was always a dream of mine. When I returned to Oklahoma, I worked for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. In 2015, I took my first job back at OSU in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, serving the campus tour program for the next four years. Just last year, I took a job at the OSU Alumni Association where I am the Coordinator of Student and Campus Programs. I am the advisor to homecoming, I oversee the senior awards program as well as the OSU class ring program and I am building relationships with each of the college alumni societies to provide them support."

What is your favorite part of your job?

"It’s the students. It’s my passion to help students learn and grow from a variety of experiences that help them prepare for life after college."

How has your agricultural communications degree served you in your career?

"Contacts I made back in my undergraduate days are still valuable now as a professional. I love how connected OSU is in that way. Though I haven’t followed the path I thought I would post-graduation, I still use my communication skills every day. Again, it goes back to the people. I have been encouraged to use my degree in non-traditional ways over the years by my mentors. I am currently responsible for writing, editing, managing and communicating about my programs and many of those skills are rooted in my time with the agricultural communications department and CASNR staff.
