Get to Know JD!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

"I grew up on my family’s wheat and commercial cattle operation in Eastern Washington and grew up raising and showing Angus cattle. Today, I serve as the Vice President of Communications at the Oklahoma Youth Expo and am the President of Rosman Enterprises, a full service marketing agency specializing in in telling the stories of agriculture and rural America. As a senior in high school, I had the opportunity to serve as the Washington Wheat Growers Ambassador and was able to work alongside the association as they worked with local lawmakers in order to advocate for the agriculture industry. There I found my passion for telling the ag story and the stories of farmers and ranchers."

What is your favorite part of your job?

“My favorite part of my job is being able to tell stories. Whether it is of an exhibitor at the Oklahoma Youth Expo and their goals both in and out of the showring, or of the rancher who works to provide high-quality food for the world, I love being able to tell peoples stories. My team and I work hard to tell those stories across a multitude of medias whether it be print articles in magazines, advertisements, feature films or through high quality imagery across social media.”

How has your  agricultural communications degree served you in your career?

“My degree helped give me a great base knowledge of the marketing and communications industry and set me up for success. From there I was able to hone my own skills and find my specialties in this ever changing industry."
