Get to Know Mindy!
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
"I am a 2012 Agricultural Leadership grad and a 2014 graduate of the MIAP program with an emphasis on Education and Extension. I am originally from the Mustang/Union City, Oklahoma area. During my time at OSU, I found a passion for education. I volunteered in a local 4-H club that offered a place for the children in Family Housing on campus to learn about natural resources and food sources. I loved 4-H so much that I sought out a summer internship where I was placed in my home county. After a short time away from agriculture, teaching middle school science, I found my way back to extension. I am a 4-H Youth Development Educator in Oklahoma County. I have been in this position for two years and I absolutely love it!"
What is your favorite part of your job?
“The kids! I have a great group of teen leaders in my county. I can depend on them to be at any event and set a great example for younger 4-H’ers.”
How has your agricultural leadership degree served you in your career?
“I train young people how to be a good leader on an everyday basis. Service leadership is the heart of the 4-H program."
