AGED 4990: African American Agriculture
This one-hour credit, weekend course provides students with an engaging insight to African Americans contributions to the agricultural economic system, and evaluates unique African American figures within the agricultural industry.
What We'll Cover
Students will learn about the history and current experiences of African Americans involved in agriculture. This course highlights contributions from George Washington Carver, Booker T. Washington and New Farmers of America. The course also takes students on a deep-dive into 1890 Land Grant Universities, African American farmers, and slavery and the American economy.
