Kaylee Travis joins agricultural communications faculty

STILLWATER,Okla – The Oklahoma State University Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership is pleased to welcome Kaylee Travis as a lecturer in agricultural communications.

Travis is a two-time graduate of OSU and holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree in agricultural communications. Travis taught as an adjunct lecturer before joining the faculty full time in January.

“Since I finished graduate school, I knew I wanted to teach and I knew that I wanted to be back at Oklahoma State University. I never thought that I would have this opportunity this early in my career, this is my dream job.”

Travis teaches face-to-face and online sections of AGCM 3013: Written Communications in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The course helps students across the Ferguson College of Agriculture understand and apply writing principles and communications theory regarding public issues in agriculture, food and natural resources.

“I am most excited about being back on campus and working with students one on one to teach them how to communicate about agriculture,” Travis said.

The agricultural communications program at OSU is among the largest and most prestigious in the nation. The program is housed in the OSU Department of Agricultural Education, Communications and Leadership and combines courses in communication and agriculture to prepare graduates who can communicate about complex issues in agriculture, food and the environment.
