20th BMBGSA Research Symposium 


The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Graduate Student Association is putting on its annual Research Symposium which shows cases of student research throw poster presentations and oral presentations. This gives the students a chance to show off their hard work while also getting a chance at some amazing prizes. The Symposium with be held on February 22nd and 23rd on the 3rd floor atrium of the NRC. To end the event Dr. Steven Henikoff will be speaking in 108 NRC on "Genome-wide mapping of chromatin dynamic in-situ"

2024 REKEL Speaker: Blake Meyers


The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is excited to announce that Dr. Blake Meyers with be the 2024 Roger E. Koeppe Endowed Lectureship Speaker. Dr. Meyers is a Curators' Distinguished Professor at the University of Missouri and member of  Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.

Congratulating Jon Newell


Congratulations to Dr. Jon Newell for being honored as a 2023 Champion for Oklahoma State University Agriculture! 


Dr. Newell of St. Louis, Missouri, received his bachelor’s degree and doctoral degree in chemistry from OSU. He spent 30 years working as a senior research manager and scientist at Anheuser-Busch Inc., where he worked on a multitude of projects benefiting the food industry.

Dr. Newell has given back to OSU’s Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology by supporting student recruitment, research and travel to scientific conferences, and endowing a scholarship that specifically supports women in biochemistry.
