Horticulture is the science, artistry, business and technology used to produce specialty
crops for food and the beautification of the environment. Horticulture impacts our
lives on a daily basis by providing nutritious fruits and vegetables, environmental
aesthetics and recreation.
Degree Options
Business, Public, Science, Turf, Landscape Management
Hands-on laboratories are included in many courses, and you will have the unique advantage
of utilizing the Greenhouse Learning Cener. The Botanic Garden at OSU, and the Water
Conservation and Irrigation Training Center. All students in the department are required
to complete an internship prior to graduation.
$6 Million Facility
The complex is home to six separate greenhouses, a furnished classroom, office space, and the Southwood Landscape and Nursery Prep Area. Greenleaf Nursery, one of North American's largest wholesale nursery growers and long-time partner and supporter of OSU's horticulture programs, committed a $1 million toward this new project.
