MIAP Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
I am an undergraduate student and I am only a few credit hours away from graduation.
Can I apply to MIAP and be a graduate student concurrently with my undergraduate program?
We offer 4+1 programs for students pursuing a B.S. in Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, and Agribusiness, with more options planned. Applicants need a 3.0 GPA and should apply upon completing 90 credit hours. Students can take up to 9 graduate hours during their senior year, counting toward both their B.S. and MIAP. Full acceptance into the graduate college occurs after earning a bachelor's degree, allowing MIAP completion in 1–1.5 years.
Animal Science students must complete ANSI 3423 and ANSI 3543. Ag Econ/Ag Business students must complete ECON 3023 or 3113, a calculus course, and a statistics course.
- I am currently enrolled in another masters degree program, however, I am interested
in switching to MIAP. What do I need to do for my application?
Current OSU students do not need to resend transcripts to apply to MIAP through the Graduate College. Others must submit transcripts and pay the application fee. Additionally, MIAP requires two letters of recommendation and a purpose statement.

- Graduate courses from another university (not counted toward a degree): Up to 9 hours transferable.

Your advisory committee determines final transferability after meeting OSU credit requirements. Applies to simultaneous degrees or degrees completed in the past 10 years.
- What is the minimum number of credit hours required?
