The option of Wildlife Biology and Pre-Veterinary science option provides broad ecological background and training in natural wildlife science and population dynamics in addition to the basic sciences necessary to prepare students for continuing their educations in wildlife biology or veterinary medicine. It has a less applied focus than our Wildlife Ecology and Management option, and offers a more rigorous science track appropriate for individuals planning for graduate education in wildlife biology, wildlife research careers, or vet school.

Oklahoma State University has other pre-veterinary options that focus on students with agricultural career interests, whereas this option emphasizes wildlife species. Such a focus is ideal for pre-vet students planning to work in conservation-related disciplines including wildlife rehabilitation, zoo veterinarian, and veterinarians with parks and other government agencies.
