Course Learning Outcomes
Students will gain insights into agricultural and pest management practices, explore sustainable farming methods, and examine the integral role of agriculture in Brazilian society, culture, and economy.
Course Highlights
- Gain hands-on experience in Brazilian agriculture, including insect collection, laboratory visits, and exposure to biological control programs.
- Visit farms and agricultural facilities in Botucatu, Holambra, and Ribeirão Preto to learn about regional agricultural practices, including crop production of citrus, wheat, corn, coffee, and fresh flowers, as well as livestock and sustainable farming technique
- Explore Brazilian culture and cuisine through local restaurants, cachaça production, and traditional barbecue experiences.
- Experience Brazil’s natural landscapes, from waterfalls to fishing spots, while observing the country’s diverse ecosystems.

- AG 3803 Study Abroad Course in Agriculture and Natural Resources in Brazil (G) (3 credit hours with G designation*)
- ENPP 5020 Special Problems: Brazil Entomology, Agriculture, and Ecology (3 credit hours, graduate level)
*Undergraduate students at Oklahoma State University are required to take at least one class that carries a G designation for graduation purposes.
