Course Learning Outcomes

This course will deepen students’ understanding of Greece’s history, agriculture, and culture through immersive, first-hand experiences. Students will broaden their knowledge of Greece’s agricultural production and economy. They will also examine the historical background and cultural attitudes that shape Greece’s current economic and political environment.

 

Course Highlights

  • Explore iconic archaeological sites including the Acropolis, Olympia, Delphi, and Thermopylae.
  • Tour agricultural operations such as a honey and olive farm, a pistachio farm, a feta cheese producer, a plant nursery, and a winery.
  • Visit multiple museums showcasing Greece’s rich classical history and mythology.
  • Experience authentic Greek cuisine and culinary traditions.
  • Spend a full day and night on the island of Aegina, enjoying beaches, local culture, and island life.

Course Enrollment Options

  • AGEC 3803 International Agricultural Economics Tour in Greece (I)  (3 credit hours with I designation*)
  • AGEC 5990 International Agricultural Economics Tour in Greece (3 credit hours, graduate level)

*Undergraduate students at Oklahoma State University are required to take a class that carries an I designation for graduation purposes.
