Hello! My name is Mary Parnell, and I've been a part of OSU BMB since I was an undergrad. I am now building on my undergraduate research and continuing in Dr. Junpeng Deng's lab as a masters student. My research is focused on protein structure and function, which employs techniques such as affinity purification, protein crystallization, and cloning. I've been fascinated with science ever since I was little and was inspired to pursue it by my love for God's creation and by my uncle, who is a biochemist. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends and chilling at home by baking, drawing, reading, or watching something.
