Stephen Kotey
My name is Stephen Kotey, and I am from Ghana, West Africa. I completed my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Ghana. My current study is focused on understanding host immunity in response to infectious disease. I am particularly interested in human long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and studying how they regulate host immune system during tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infection by employing various molecular biology and genetic tools. Through this I hope to contribute to the development of a host-directed therapy for mentioned infections including cystic fibrosis patients with NTM lung infections. Outside lab work, I enjoy travelling, site seeing, catching up with friends and fictional stories.
