Competitive Teams
Our Teams
The OSU Department of Animal and Food Sciences sponsors the livestock, horse, meats,
meat animal evaluation, and dairy cattle judging teams. All have established enviable
national reputations in competition.
We also have competitive teams for the Animal Science Quadrathlon and the Food Science
Quiz Bowl. Students from every background are encouraged to participate.
Students who participate on these judging teams gain knowledge and experience in teamwork,
critical thinking, and communication. The important skills and networking they receive
will affect them for their entire careers. Scholarship opportunities are also available
for judging team students.
Triple Crown National Champions
Our department has earned more national judging championships than any other university.
In 2018, Oklahoma State University received the "triple crown," winning three national
championship titles in three days for livestock, meat, and horse judging. The last
time a university won three championships in the same year was in 1987.
