Outcomes Assessment
Outcome assessment results from the past five years of upper-division classes show that at least 90% of students meet or exceed expectations in core forestry learning themes. These themes include ecology and biology, forest resource management, forest economics, and policy and administration. These data are compiled each semester from each of 12 core forestry courses (elements of forestry, wood products and timber harvesting, dendrology, geospatial technologies for natural resources, forest measurements 1, forest measurements 2, forest biology, forest health and disturbance ecology, silviculture, natural resource administration and policy, forest economics, and forest management planning capstone). The instructor of each course provides data from each student that scores level of accomplishment relative to each learning objective.
Rates of job placement
Nearly 100% of our forestry undergraduate students are employed in forestry or a closely related field. Positions are available with state level forest service (Oklahoma Forest Service). Positions are also available with USDA Forest Service in Oklahoma and nearby states are sought after. In addition, private forestry companies hire many of our graduates.
