Welcome to the Ferguson Family!

You are not a number in our college — you are an individual with unique needs, interests and goals. We make it a top priority to create a family atmosphere in and out of the classroom, while still challenging you with rigorous and engaging academics offered by our dedicated faculty, and plenty of opportunity for gaining real-world experience.
Students in our college come from both urban settings and traditional agricultural backgrounds. They are first-generation, legacy, in-state, out-of-state and out-of-country students. This diversity adds strength to the Ferguson College of Agriculture experience.

Faculty Advising

As a student in our college, you’ll have the advantage of being advised by a faculty member working in your academic major. Embracing an open-door policy, our faculty advisors will help you plan your program of study that considers your background, interests and future plans. In addition to their teaching and advising roles, our faculty members also connect with you through club advising and undergraduate research scholar mentoring. With a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio in our college, our faculty are able to invest time in every student and help them reach their academic goals.

Hands-On Learning

Our passion is helping you embrace your potential, and giving you the tools to make the most of your education. With hands-on learning opportunities in every major, you will gain experience in and out of the classroom. Beginning your first semester on campus, you will gain practical experience in laboratories on campus, on our multiple teaching farms, and in our state-of-the-art facilities. We believe in the value of these experiences that will prepare you for real-world success.

College Highlights

We award more than $1.8 million in scholarships to students every year. Students from all majors are considered for university scholarships which can be combined with college and departmental scholarship opportunities.

Study Abroad

Our study abroad courses are facilitated through our college's Office of Multicultural Programs and aim to provide you unique experiences to expand your horizons and gain an understanding of different cultures and places. You can choose to participate in short- or long-term study abroad courses throughout the year.

Student Involvement

We offer more than 60 student organizations and competitive teams that provide you with leadership, social, and career opportunities. Networking with industry leaders, getting to know faculty and building friendships are just a few of the things you will experience.
